Testimonials

“We are grateful for the dynamic presentation that was provided to our parent community by Mrs. Jaime Koo and Encouraging Literacy.  Focusing on how parents are able to engage their students in building literacy skills at home, Mrs. Koo delivered an engaging presentation that was packed with strategies and resources that all parents can use in supporting their child’s literacy skills within the home.  I highly recommend this presentation to all parents and educators.”

"Cj was recognized for “most improved” reader in his class for the month based on monthly reading logs! Fitting for him - he gets a medal with his favorite animal, the shark, and books. Thanks to Jaime
of
www.EncouragingLiteracy.com for the extra help because it’s still a struggle. 😭Progress..."

"I attended Jaime's 'Encouraging Literacy at Home' workshop last year when my son was in Kindergarten. I followed many of her suggestions for helping my son to improve his reading skills. This year, my son is in the 1st grade and at his Fall parent-teacher conference, his teacher told me that his reading level was like that of a student at the middle of the 2nd grade. I found Jaime's tips to be very helpful and that's why I am attending her 'Writing - Nuts and Bolts' workshop today."

"Jaime - I teach cooking classes only couple hours per month at my son's after school club and it takes me all month to prepare it. I can only image how much time you put in to prepare these workshops. I just want you to know your investment continues to help expanding parents' knowledge in workshops, our children benefit from our learning at home, and creating conversations among parents around Noble campus. You have made a positive impact in my little family. After last month workshop, I have increased from 15 minutes to 45 minutes reading/telling stories with Robin (my 3 year old) every night. Periodically, she goes behind the couch with her finger puppets and re-tell stories that she heard at bedtime---how rewarding is that! Last workshop, I asked you a question when I should instill writing to children and your very helpful answer changed our bedtime ritual.  THANK YOU.

"I have been an executive board member of the PTA for over five years and Jaime Koo is an active role model and parent educator on our campus. I have also had the pleasure of taking one of her courses! I was delighted the way in which she brings literature to life and her passion to teach parents how to engage with their children in new and creative ways. Her lessons are enjoyable and insightful. I happily recommend her to any school looking to add value to their existing educational programs."

"Ms. Koo has been a huge asset to our school site and parent community. Ms. Koo has led a kinder parent workshop and a parent workshop series here at Noble to help connect our parents to the instruction and expectations of our students in the classroom. She is very knowledgeable and creative with great organizational skills. Ms. Koo is very effective in working with staff and parents. She has a very approachable way that lends to great conversations and a very effective way of informing the community at hand. The workshops that Ms. Koo designed on her own are very engaging and directly connect to the current practice in education. The sessions were well thought out and highly effective in their intent. I have received outstanding feedback from participants that attended her workshops and parents have felt it helped to make them more informed. She is very in tune to what the parents’ needs are and she does all she can to meet those needs."
